It was on display at the recent BMW PH Sunday Service the other day. I liked it, looks smart in person!

I've ordered an M40i arriving in March, should be one of the first on the road. Obviously haven't driven yet but having owned an M135i and tried an M240i I'm pretty confident it should be good driving

I saw the same one as va1o at BMW UK, and wasn't a fan (other than the colour)!

Turbo - why? Flappy-paddle only - why? Pram-top only -why?

I may not be a fan! laugh

Turbo engine to improve fuel consumption by improving efficiency?

Auto box to improve fuel consumption by improving efficiency?

Pram top to improve fuel consumption by reducing weight? (Thereby improving efficiency?)

Or:

Turbo engine to give great performance, and achieve the latest emissions standards?

Auto box to help achieve the latest emissions standards by using 8 gears instead of 6 found in a manual gearbox?

Pram top to lower the cars centre of gravity, to make it a sportier, better balanced drive?

Oh well, it looks like I'll need to wait for the Supra version as it has a proper roof! Saves the weight of strengthening a Roadster platform!

Toyota are talking about making a manual one - I hope they do!

But there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid turbo's these days. frown

Although the facelift Z4M had 343 bhp from a naturally-aspirated engine, so it surely could be done if buyers wanted it - sadly most don't seem interested. banghead

Christ. And there’s me thinking BMW couldn’t carry on making gopping cars, and they firmly prove me wrong.
