BMW service not showing within i-drive
Discussion
Hi, I was wondering if someone could shed some light on the below query please?
Yesterday my 2014 1 series had an interim service (oil change & filter) plus I had the brake fluid changed.This was completed by an independent garage, and not a BMW approved dealership.
All went well and the i-drive indicators for both oil change and brake fluid show that these have been carried out.
However, when I go into the "Service History" function, this service does not appear as I believe it should.
All previous services were carried out by BMW.
My question is;
Is it only BMW who can update the Service record stored within the i-drive system?
Why do you think the oil change and brake fluid indicators have updated within i-drive and not the service record?
I did challenge this with the garage at the time, they plugged in a "Snap On" diagnostics into the car, but said they didn't know why it hadn't updated.
Does anyone have any ideas please?

Indy’s can upload service history. But they have to subscribe to some service with / via BMW and/ or have the software.
The fact the indicators have updated , I don’t believe is relevant. As I had a service with BMW where everything was pukka , but for them forgetting to update the service history screen!

Might not be relevant , but when I had my derv serviced the BMW web site stipulated that if everything on their list wasn't changed at the point of service (meaning the micro filter in my case) then the service history would not be updated on the Idrive system. I assumed that meant that if I choose to have oil and oil filter changes carried out in between BMW requirements then Idrive wouldn't be updated.
