I-Drive rebooting

Hi all, I have a 2015 3 series which seems to have developed a strange issue with the I-Drive nav/radio system.
In short, on most journeys, the screen goes black, the audio cuts out, there is a small hiss noise and after a few seconds ‘BMW Connected Drive’ appears on the screen. After 30 seconds, the audio returns and everything is fine until it happens again.
I’ve phoned the local dealer about this and they want circa £106/hr to try and diagnose the fault. In the meantime, is this something that anyone else on here has experienced/come across?
It’s very distracting and frustrating when you are using the screen to aid with reversing or using the sat-nav.
