I'm currently looking at picking up an E92 335d M-sport auto. Completely new to BMWs, and with some initial research I've found 3 up for sale that I'm interested in going to view. All coming in at different price points/age/mileage so I'm not really sure which one represents the best value.

Option 1: 09 plate, 70k, well specced (highline), full BMW service history, 2 owners, looks almost perfect condition, sold by an independent dealer - £9995.

Option 2: 57 plate, 93k, well specced, full service history, looks in good condition with a few subtle mods and common issues fixed , private seller - £8995.

Option 3: 57 plate, 111k, well specced (highline), full service history, looks in very good condition considering the mileage, common issues and some high mileage wear and tear parts been sorted recently, private seller - £7250.

I know common sense might say to go for the best my budget can afford, but I'm not entirely sure which options presents the best value. Top and bottom option seem about right by my online valuation, middle option seems overpriced, especially coming from a private seller unless they're willing to budge a bit.

Any opinions or things I need to consider would be highly appreciated. Stuck in a bit of analysis paralysis.

First question to ask yourself is how many miles a year do you anticipate driving it?

On paper , I’d go 1.
I don’t think the saving on even 3 is worth the difference in age and miles.
2009 Highline should mean CIC which is much better tech , assuming it has iDrive (nav).
I thought highline (I had one) was a “run out” special of the pre facelift so 2009 model year. Without seeing build sheet as proof, I don’t see how a 57 plate is one?!?
I’m still a cynic so be aware by the claims “full BMW service history” , sometimes it means there are no non BMW stamps in book , but not all service items recorded. Given the low mileage , for example, there has to be oil changes biannualy as that’s a minimum. standard So check history thoroughly in my opinion.
If it’s been within the main dealer network , try and find out what , if any, big jobs it’s had done. In my experience , past performance predicts future performance. So I prefer a low or no problem car. And known faults , as you say one of the other cars has had done, can happen again.

Plus not sure I’d want to risk a modded car. Do your own if that’s the way you want to go thus , with the surety it’s done properly.

I hope 1 (my pick) or indeed any of them are what you’re after.
