E39 525D 2000 No fuel to rail
Discussion
So as the title suggests i have a 525D that wont start due to no fuel getting to rail.
All began when i noticed that the pressure line from filter to hp-pump was leaking so being annoyed by this i set on replacing it, nice no more messy engine bay to look at, except now its least of my worries because it wouldnt start, maybe cough now and then but thats pretty much it.
After this i hooked up inpa and it showed pre-supply pressure of 2,14 bar, not ideal so i checked everything and no leaks anywhere, i then changed EVERYTHING inbetween the fuel tank and hp-pump, now im getting 3,97 bar pre-supply, nice but no dice as it wont start, rail pressure showed 112 Bar so not good either i then thought maybe the injectors are bad as there was one slightly higher than the rest, changed new injectors and fixed threads on 2 sets of them in the valve cover.
Still not starting, ok now im getting tad annoyed and baffled by this so i changed the cam, crank, rail, pre-supply and imm sensors OEM, but yet again nothing, having pretty much everything new i hoped it would be the pressure regulator at the hp-pump since its common failure point of m57 engine, guess what still nothing and the only one left was the hp-pump itself so i changed that today but now theres no rail pressure at all anymore and a occasional drip of diesel can be seen from the hp line.
I have checked fuses and connections and wiring straight new wires from the ecu and power cables, thus eliminating? electrical faults.
Could it be that i seriously have 2 faulty hp-pumps or is my ecu broken? during a hose repair operation? im at a loss and yes all hoses are right so dont ask that.

Try disconnecting the front pressure rail sensor. That tells the ECU to run on a default setting. They can be b
ds to start after work - I had a 120d that just would not play ball after a HPFP swap.......I had someone cranking it whilst I fired easy start down the EGR. It knocked like a b
d but eventually caught as it built up rail pressure.
It can also we worth cracking open the injector unions whilst cranking to bleed them out.

Tried this but no change whatsoever, also re-fitted new seals to pressure regulator again. thinking of ews but no DCT from it and shouldnt it not raise railpressure at all if that were the case? im still getting 112bar and the occasional 130-140bar when it tries to fire up but just ends up coughing and dropping the pressure back to 90-100 bar.
