E46 coupe facelift GM5 advice

My central locking has started playing about for the past 4 weeks now, everything works fine after the car has not been used for a while (eg every morning) but after driving for about an hour it starts messing around symtoms are dosent unlock via key remote, need to manually open the door in the door lock and passenger door does not open im sure its the Gm5, anyway long story short does anyone know anyone that can repair these for cheap, rather get mine repaired rather than buying another module that might not work etc

And am i able to use my car without the gm5, (if i do need to send mine off for repair) i know that wipers and obviously central locking wont work but is it safe to drive for a few days without it

There's a service on eBay that repairs while you wait. Searching "gm5 repair" should bring it back, I believe.
Mine was dying when I sold my E46, but the symptoms were only intermittent remote locking and non-working rear pop-out windows. So I left it.

I will hopefully send mine off this week, once removing the gm5 will my locking and unlocking only work by using the key (in door lock)?

You'll have no power windows without the module fitted, and your wipers will only work on the flat out setting.

E46 GM models are worth less than a pack of Marlboros on Ebay - just find a used one and code it in.
