F31 335d or G30 530d?

Hi all,

I'm looking to swap cars in the next few months and have narrowed it down to one of the above, either a F31 335d Touring or G30 530d Saloon. I can't settle on one or the other though, so would be good to hear peoples experiences, especially those who have tried both?

Definitely the G30, not even a contest, have you driven or sat in both? The 530d wins it hands down.

Performance was the 335d is a lot quicker but only 0-40, in any powerful 3.0 diesel, once you’re moving, there’s not much difference between.

I haven’t driven the new 5 series but I have driven the new 630d GT and it made my 4 series feel like an old banger in terms of the interior and comfort. I thought my 3.0 diesel in my car was quiet when moving but the new 3.0d in the G series made mine sound like a tractor when compared.

Have you seen them?! No contest, the G30 is far far superior. Unless you want an estate obviously. Unfair to compare a 3 with a 5, poor little 3 series

I’ve got a f31 335d Touring but it’s a no brainier between the 2, the 5 series hands down. We tried both before we bought ours in December, the 5 series is way better in the interior & refinement league, I wanted to get the 5 series but it was just a bit too big for us, or should I say the mrs, so we went for a 3 series instead.

To be fair though even the same N57 I found a lot noiser in a 3 series over a 5 there is way more insulation in a 5!

Plus the N series engines are not hugely different in a number of areas, so I doubt the N57 is actually that much louder than the B57.
