Hello

I've recently purchased a 2008 X5 35d. I'm wanting to do some basic tuning, nothing major maybe just a remap and dpf delete.

Please could anyone advise me on sensible bits of maintenance I should carry out before considering remapping? The car is on 97k with full BMW history. Obviously I will change the oil & oil/fuel/air filters. Anything else worth doing beforehand on this twin turbo model? Swirl flap removal? EGR delete?

Also if anyone could recommend a place to carry out the map etc in or around West Yorkshire that would be very helpful

Thank you!

P.S sorry for the not so very interesting topic that's probably been covered numerous times before. Please don't start giving me a hard time for wanting to get rid of my pesky dpf either ?

Don’t bother removing the Dpf. It may fail the mot, BMW dpfs are reliable.

Problems with them are due to other faulty components, ignorant mechanics then change the Dpf without fixing whatever made it go wrong.

There’s no need to remove the egr either.

Evolve or E-maps

https://www.evolveautomotive.com/evolve-ecu-remap-...

http://www.e-maps.co.uk/search-results/?make=bmw&a...

Both very good imho...…...E-maps are better value though and Simon will also come to you. thumbup
