BMW F30 320D Handling
Discussion
HI All!
I've had my 320D for about 6 months now and it's the first rear wheel drove car I've owned. I'm still a bit nervous about throwing it into corners as I'm not 100% sure of what the car is going to do. With my previous cars I was comfortable 'making progress' and anticipating understeer/oversteer or even power off oversteer (on track obvs
) I understand that with a rear wheel drive car it will have a bias towards oversteer but I seem to recall someone saying BMW 'tune' some understeer them? So for example, if on a neutral throttle in a corner what is most likely to occur, understeer or oversteer? What will it do around a corner if no power is applied (not that I'd consciously do that myself)? I've had the back end twitch applying power out of corners but this is what I expect to happen, the traction control immediately sorted that out though.
I'm now considering turning off DSC and having a bit of fun but the uncertainty of how the vehicle will behave!
