Series 4 headlamp ring problem

My BMW series 4 the headlamp 2 ring one of those is flicker all the time sound is likely is fail. The white what they called is Angel ring, I can't find any info if is possible to replace only LED ring or have to buy the whole headlamp? and by the way I thought this LED really should last more 20,000 hours (12years) of life but my BMW is 2015 not a many years of use is broken already! My dealership said I was unlucky should have not fused that early is recommend me should buy the whole set headlamp for £725 plus VAT! INCLUDE LABOUR!!! Before I purchase it, I went checked my warranty book it doesn't say if is cover by electrical faults LED from headlamp? is anyone know about the cover of warrantry and what should I do? There is a used headlamp for £400 would it be easy to fit on my own?

You took it to a dealer and were surprised they suggested a massive bill? You might be lucky...... On my 2012 520 the nearside Angel eye started flashing and eventually packed up. The light had not fused or otherwise broken. The most common issue is water getting into the light and damaging the circuit board that drives the lights. On mine the rear cover came loose letting water in. Even after drying it still did not work so I bought a second hand circuit board for my car and had it fitted by my Independent. They returned the old board and it was badly corroded by water damage and I was told they needed to clean the connections but a year plus later all is well. Got to be worth a check and save ££££

You can replace the led module- if that is what’s at fault- within the headlight. They usually only fail if water has got into the headlamp tho.

U can try swapping modules from side to side to see if the fault transfers to the other headlight

I have found a damp and bit of water inside back the cover cap where the wiring is, it should not be like this. I used a hair-dryer to dry the wiring and guess what the flicker has stopped! it makes me so happy thanks very much save me over £700!
