""That will be £179..... actually that is a discounted price from £279....""

How do they make these prices up?

Yeah, it’s really not cheap. The last time I had it done via a main dealer it was £99 (special offer) which was the ace as the good Indy BMW garage near by.

Perhaps you should do something to try to understand that yourself.

I had a new tyre from a BMW main dealer, it was about the same price as any other tyre shop, and included four-wheel alignment.

I needed a window fitted not long ago, BMW wanted ~£100 for the window and another £200 to fit it. Went indi and got it all in for £130... I don't understand where they get their costs from either to be honest

Those large swanky showrooms, legions of managers, nice waiting area, "free" coffee, biscuits, internet, newspapers all need to be paid for.

So true. I am not so naive to think it would be 50p but the price just seems disproportionate to the time the job would take.

Even a wheel alignment specialist like wheels in motion are Less than 100quid.

So go there then Richard?
Not sure why you'd bother going to BMW for anything.

My last alignment was at my local tyre shop, cost me £18 and perfect results.
(Camber etc had been set prior by Alex).

It was part of a quote for some work before buying a car so wanted to know what the worst case senario was...... and I found it :-)
