Android phone and F20 IDrive

Hello all,

We bought a 120d shadow edition and have been struggling to get my android phone connected via USB. Wifes ancient Iphone works ok and I can connect the HTC 10 via bluetooth but bluetooth audio is rubbish. I've noticed that I can play mp3's if they are located in a share/folder on the phone but nothing via google play. I've read a fair bit and the general consensus seems to be that BMW and Android will not be a "thing" moving forward. Mr May of BMW apparently lives in the 90's.... I'm thinking I might be stuck with bluetooth but has anyone had any luck with USB connectivity? Did a search but didnt find anything. Many thanks in advance for any replies.

No problem connecting my hauwei android phone via Bluetooth for calls and contacts

I use the arm rest usb with a separate stick for music and have no issues at all.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I think the USB drive is the way to go. An odd decision by BMW though given that around 80% of phones use Android. I understand the desire to "standardize" a platform to ease development and use though.
