BMW M5 F10.....£35 new engine?

Hi All

I’ve too much time on my hands and I’ve started thinking.....

I’ve a BMW M5 F10. Paid £30k for it last year. Has full BMW warranty. I’ve read the warranty covers repairs up to price of car in one claim. However, supposing the engine was to go bang and it needed a new one. BMW claim it’s £35k for such.

What would happen here if the car is only “insured” to £30k? I.e; the purchase price. Would they insist you pay £5k or would the dealer get a reconditioned unit for around half that?
