Hi forum,

I have tried to search for previous advice on this but to no avail. I would love to hear some input on pricing / offers as of recent before I put on my haggling shoes. I've used Whatcar valuation etc but unsure on the reliability of this?

Car is a 17 plate 335d X-drive touring black with oyster/cream interior w/ M Sport plus, interior comfort, and SatNavPro. Has <20K on it and one owner/one driver. £25,000 or there about on the ticket price.

Woudld be grateful to hear what people paid for similar cars as of recent or any guidance on how to find a reasonable haggling offer.

Is this a private purchase or from a dealer?

I bought a 17 reg 335d Touring from a BMW dealer in December last year, I paid £25350, mine has black leather with oyster piping, pano roof(a must on the touring imo), rear parking camera, Pro Nav, m sport plus(bigger wheels, blue brakes & Harmon Karon), mine had 11000 miles on it.

I was all set to purchase a 335D Touring until the salesman offered me a spin in a 340i Touring.. both awesome machines but the 340 just blew me away, it also had the MPPSK power and exhaust kit on it sounded unbelievable, Its a win win either way but if you can have a spin in a 340 and do a side by side like I did it helped me decide quicker. Both ace cars though.

Ah don't say that. I spent a day debating between the 340i and the 335d but have been so far persuaded the 335d is the right car. I need to find a happy medium between practicality, efficiency, and fun. The 335d x-drive seems to be that.

Timely...

We're looking at buying the same (although we may even go for a 320d as it really does perform well for what it is).

The one thing I'm waiting on is the Touring being replaced, before xmas they were doing 335d X-Drive saloons on 0% interest at £399 down and £399 a month on 10k per annum for 4 years.

It can't be far away.

Oh wow, I heard something about these deals on a youtube channel (i think) and was wondering what it was about. Very interesting, I will see what I can find today in my digging.

The 320 is nice for sure and performs well but the little boy in me can't help myself with the 335d. There are two ex-demo 320d touring Shadow editions coming up for sale at Glasgow BMW if that's of any help to you?

If you’re trading in Peter Vardy are giving a better price for your car than we buy any car. It’s a cash valuation which means you can take their money and go elsewhere. You can also use this valuation as a starting price when haggling.
Regarding the car, minor irritations. I had a 17 plate tourer 335d and found the brakes to be wanting. The muck and dirt thrown up and onto the back windows was something that could be improved. If possible try and get a car with the better sound system. All said a great car with power. Hope you find your car . Larry.

Ah good advice, thanks Larry. Unfortunately nothing to trade in so will just be a cash deal at the moment. Thanks for the wee summary, I am trying to find one loaded with H&K, Pro Nav, interior comfort package so fingers crossed. Found a beauty with Merino leather at a wee (ab)used car shop who has purchased it from a 'BMW supplier' but am still waiting to hear about it it's 'one owner history'.

They’re pretty much all loaded as M Sport Shadow Editions with HK audio now.

My major issue is none have keyless entry which I really could live without these days. It appears to be a rare option.

Thank the stars for no keyless entry.

Any BMW built since March 18 with Comfort Access has the new type key fob which goes to sleep when not moving. This can't be relayed when asleep. Older BMWs with CA can buy a discounted replacement key fob with this feature from their BMW dealer. This only applies to fairly recent BMWs I believe, but if buying a used car from BMW, I would make replacement keys part of the deal.

If the minuscule chance of my car being nicked happens, I’d much rather it by someone cloning a signal out side my house than breaking in and threatening my family to find the keys.

Digging around for car keys in your pocket in the rain is very over rated.

Nice looking car on autotrader only minor problem is that it’s in Belfast, not to far for you. Have a look and if interested phone the guy up and see what he would let it go for. Bought my previous car like that. Arranged a good price on the phone then drove to the north of England . Practically bought it unseen. The salesmans last question was would I like anything else and I thought ,why not ask for another £500 off to which he replied I’ll go and speak to my manager and low and behold £500 off. Your car is out there waiting on you. Enjoy 😉

I can understand the logic in that... They are both great fun to drive and both ridiculously quick, I think the MPPSK kit on the 340 made the difference for me it turns the car into an absolute animal if you are in the mood and a sedate cruise when back in comfort mode when your not... pretty impressive on fuel also, like I say I was set on a 335D as it has everything I needed, The salesman just threw me an irresistable curveball out the blue.

Love my 335d shadow

Bought from factory last year after a long wait

Not stopped grinning since

No regrets
