I was passenger in a couple of drives of the new BMW X7 this past weekend. It is a beast, although not quite as big as I was expecting.

First impressions:
-It looks nicer in person than in photo's
- It's very tall
-Those grills are massive
-Really good trim level and standard kit looks to be generous
-Boot is really very small when all the seats are up
-Boot is massive when the third row (I assume most people would have it like this most of the time) is down

In all, it's a nice car and has a good ride. Would definitely want the premium package for heated enhancements (heated armrest makes a much bigger difference then you would expect), cooled/massage seats, as well as tech package for the very cool adaptive cruise and all the additional features that comes with.

Quiet inside, helped by double thick glass as standard.

The version I was in had the middle bench seats. If I were to spec myself I'd probably go for the 2 separate seats. I would've liked to have seen this option.

Negative point - the rear doors are huge. I can imagine opening them in a car park to get kids in and out will be next to impossible 5 times out of 10. It's a shame they don't have the feature on the key which allows you to reverse the car out of a space remotely.

I really like these a lot, they are also very nimble cars considering how big they are. Will definitely take a look at one as soon as they hit the dealership floors.
