340i standard twin exhaust, fitted to 335/435d?
Discussion
Hello,
I've seen in a few other forums that people have modified 330/335d's to accommodate the 340i standard valued twin exhaust back box.

Can anyone tell me if you could fit it to a 435d convertible?
Cheers,

Yes can be done. I had a 440i rear box fitted to my 428i. You also need a new diffuser.Torqueflow in Birmingham did mine and they are first class. a 435d was in to have dual exhaust outlets fitted and they didn't fit a new rear box as diesels are not as loud without the rear silencer box. Give them a call. I had an SLK 250d fitted with 55 AMG quad rear pipes and no rear box with very little increase in noise.

Do you know if the 340i/440i back boxes are the same?

I've seen a few 335ds with the 340i style exhaust fitted. Seems an expensive way to add what is basically a cosmetic modification (plus the extra cost in insurance).
Says the comedian with a 340i
Mine came modified, though more of a custom job of the original 335d exhaust, and it does make for a nicer and more symmetrical rear end (oh dear), but each to their own. For the money it is at least quite a tasteful and OEM looking modification.
