Hi All,

Has anyone bought a new 840d and if so what kind of discount did you get?

Already seeing used (ex demo) ones at around £10k or so below list, just got me curious as to whether people are paying list or if there are incentives to buy?

Also, I know it's a bit crystal ball, but do people expect there to be bigger discounts over time? I remember the 640d had £20k-£30k deposit contribution, 0% APR etc at various junctures. Interested in the 8 but in no rush, so I am happy to wait it out if crazy deals are coming!

9% is showing on coast 2 coast.

That brings it fairly close to my dealers car which is up for £63k.

I suspect given time we might see these discounts grow significantly as is typical of the larger BMW's I suspect we may see the type of deals the 640D had going on it.

It is rather like the M5 as well where some of the deals have grown significantly in recent times. Even the Z4 just at release was no discount is now showing 2% off.

I happened to be in some private grounds yesterday where about 60-70 generally high end BMWs were being stored. Most of them 68 reg and some 19 reg - looked like they were pre-reg cars.

The point is, there were about ten 8 series cars there - a very high proportion I thought - I wasn’t there to look at the cars but I did notice most of the 8 series seemed to be M850 cabriolets.

I am sure the discounts will only go one way, so if you’re not in a rush, I’d be patient and wait a while.

There were also about half a dozen M5s that looked really nice (note to self - must not test drive new M5)
