E92 D3 Alpina 0147
Discussion
Hi I've agreed in principle to purchase a bi turbo D3 and i have a couple of questions.
The car is listed as being white in the log book but actually silver in real life. Is this common , i've seen this on other cars in the past but need to get to the bottom of it incase i want to sell it on later.
The car has the n47 engine and if you fead the net there are numerous articles about timing chains snapping etc etc etc, the car has done 85k miles and been serviced by BMW rather than a specialist. It's my intention to change the oil every 6k miles so which oil is considered the best.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks
Rossco

Hi Helix
From having a read on the forums there's lots of pub talk about 10w60 and LL-04 and although the manual states 10w60 this appears to go against what oil should be used with a car that has a DPF and others seem to be stating that Castrol Edge 5W 40 (LL-04) is the way to go.
I also need a set of rotors for the car but can't find a UK motor factors to supply the bits as there Reg is not coming up automaticaly on the data base and if you manually enter it as a D3 Alpina i get no options
