get back in the boot and check all the wiring even slightly lose can do that on either terminal, also check you have not dislodged the main fuses on top of the battery.

Coding the battery makes no difference to starting or not starting nothing to do with this problem. Unless this is a really new Model and they have introduced some sillyness.

If it isn't an AGM battery it won't accept it. Believe it needs to be coded in for the efficientdynamics alternator to work, as the alternator both charges and uses battery.

It needs to be coded. An OBD2 code reader can sort this out
No it can’t. As mentioned not registering the new battery will not prevent starting.

How long did you run it without issue after swapping battery?

It sounds like all was ok for a time, then it wasn’t.
How long was it ok?

Without reset/coding, if the old battery was way past it, it might have been drained and not recharged?!

Assuming ah and cca ratings are the same? And it’s AGM?

Also upon disconnect/reconnect did you remove + last and apply it first upon replacement? (I think that’s the right way around)... you can potentially cause some shorting otherwise when battery terminals are loose... possibly causing some error codes to be set/fuses to have issues.

Another thing to mention is that the batteries themselves have changed since the car was released. I think it is a different amp rating now compared to when it was launched, so ensure that the current one is installed. This is why I used the dealer as there was confusion amongst some independent garages as to what battery was needed. They did charge 30 minutes of labour for coding at the dealer.
