BMW 1 Series - HELP! - Struggling to start

Hi all,
Looking for any help as I have no clue about cars!
I drive a 1 series (which has around 45,000 miles on it) and a few times, after i've been driving and stopped the car and gone to restart, The car is struggling to start for a few seconds but eventually does.
On the computer screen it says "ignition fault" and then it goes away and the car seems fine.
Does anyone know why this could be happening?
