Recently acquired a 2 year old black 420i M Sport for her indoors - lovely car and we are both enjoying driving it!
Every other car I've ever bought always came with a service manual/booklet which was stamped each time a service was carried out. The 420i only came with a owners handbook and a Retailer Warranty book. I appreciate that when services are carried out now this is recorded electronically on the vehicle itself but should there also have been a service manual/booklet for stamping?

My first post on the BMW forum so hopefully don't get shot down in flames! :-)

No service book is correct. All service history is electronically stored on BMWs central database-only if the person doing it subscribes to BMWs computer system.

No,every thing is now recorded in the cars data and on the key recgonstion data held at any main dealer.. I'm suprised you even have a manual because the car will have a full instruction manual explained through the I drive...

Thanks for the replies guys. That puts my mind at rest!
Car currently running on Bridgestone Potenza run flat tyres. Do all new BMW's have run flats now?

Most seem to yes, apart from full fat M cars... Although it is hit and miss because my M235i came with MPSS, others on the forums came with the Potenzas, luck of the draw it seems...

M lite can generally be specified with or without run flat or non run flat tyres at factory for no charge if memory serves.
