We are looking at buying one of these for a manager at work.

He has been priced up a fully specced one for £43,630 list and £40,800 after discount.

Seems too dear really, that car has all of the option packs etc.

Have priced a more sensible spec for £40,925 list.

Quite a new model, what discounts can one expect at the moment? anyone notable offering a good deal?

Seems a huge amount to spend on a 2ltr diesel.
Spend £15-20k less than you’d budgeted and buy a used F10 M5 or similar or a £30k M3/4.

And bear in mind the increased annual car tax if over £40k (list price and not discounted).

Looking at G20 list prices there is a huge jump between SE and M Sport trim, with only the manual version of the latter coming in under £40k list.

Looking at broker pricing it seems you can get a 530d M sport for about £40k after discount so I know what I’d be doing, but appreciate that going by the OP this is company car scenario rather than private buyer, which changes things.

A few minutes on the configurator showed the folly of what this guy had specced, pushed too hard by the salesman etc. An SE can be about 36k and a Sport 39k with M sport above that.

Somehow I don’t think we will be buying him a used F10 M5 smile bless Pistonheads for suggesting so though....

Will try the broker websites. Thanks

So I've tried Carwow which unfortunately seems to be a waste of time as it's for private individuals only and not company purchases.

So far local dealer has offered 9% off a £41,430 car bringing it to £37,707 which seems not too bad.

Really the target price is £36K though. I think maybe we could get something like 11% off ??

Have now phoned 3 other dealers, let's see.
