Do map updates include improved satellite/3d images?

I have an F31 with Professional nav and was curious if anyone has experience with updating their maps? I am curious to know if I paid for an updated map (which I only imagine is outdated but unsure how to check this?), would the 3d images improve?

I notice that a lot of recent BMW navigation adverts include pretty impressive 3d renderings of buildings etc. The update would cost me £45.

Is this only a feature of the NBT evo x screens or are us on NBT still in luck?

I've just updated my F31 from 2015 to 2019. I don't really use anything other than the standard nav functionality, but If you have an area that you know has had significant change, let me know and I'll have a play and post some screenshots.

I bought the map update from BMW via Connected Drive. Cost £50 for access to updates for the next 3 years.
