Used instrument cluster

Hi all,anyone on here ever changed a instrument cluster, my instrument cluster on my m3 e46 is Unrepairable, I put a used one in Same part number and it’s a M35080 cluster , don’t care about the mileage or tamper dot , but can’t get the dsc/abs light out , anyone ever done it with pa soft 1.4 tool I’m told you can .cant get the vin changed in Ike module,if anyone could help or know anything much appreciated, lots of videos of it online but not in detail

I believe it's not possible to write a new VIN to the Kombi module on the E46's without someone physically resetting the EEPROM (chip with the mileage & VIN stored on it).
But it should be possible to write the VIN from the new instruments to the DSC module fairly easily - Tool32 under Ediabas can do this. You will of course end up with the wrong mileage & a tamper dot, but as you said, you don't care!
2 things matter to the E46 - CAS and DME VINs need to match; everything else is incidental.

Ok I have tried it in the abs module I was able to change the vin to same one as instrument cluster I put in but didn’t put the dsc out , I think the abs module is the dsc as well or am I wrong?

Yes, they're the same.
I assume you've reset the steering angle sensor? That's key too.
