LED tail light issue
Discussion
I've had an advisory on the MoT for one of the LED tail lights failed (21012 X3 F25)
There isn't a 'bulb out' warning at all - from a bit or google research there's a weak circuit board in the rear (inner in my case) lights which is prone to failure.
If it's a circuit board failure and not a bulb failure will that be covered by the warranty? I guess they will try and fob me off by saying it's a bulb and they're not covered.

You say inner tail light? I assume the outer is working. I also assume the inner is on the tailgate/boot, and the outer on the rear quarter panel. I know My F30 has that, and my old E36 had twin (old-fashioned) light bulbs on each side. So I assume the car is not illegal to drive.
So, assuming the whole inner LED tail light has failed, then the unit (or circuit board) has failed, I would expect that to be a warranty issue. I would approach the dealer on that basis.

Thanks, yes - you assume right. The inner is on the tailgate and the outer on the rear wing. The outer is working.
My olde Volvo had twin bulbs to make sure that even when one went pop there was still illumination, I think this is the same, but there isn't any error message on the dash.
