E87 120i Key fob not working

Hello
The key fob of the car is not working. The doors are locked and unlocked by the central locking button under the hazard lights.The battery of the key fob has been changed, but it still does not work. By pressing the key fob buttons (to unlock, lock and unlock the boot), the start stop button lights up. Fuses were checked but not burned. Any advice?

It sounds like it needs reprogramming. Check out a Forum website or take it to a dealer is the best solution.

If it’s not locking into the dash slot it’s usually a worn or broken key slot in dashboard.
Not an easy fix I’m afraid or cheap but I’m happy to be corrected

Hello

One of the two retaining elements in key slot in dashboard is broken.The key fob is not fully locked in dash slot. The engine starts every time so I did not pay much attention to this problem.
