I Notice that G30 values are near £20k for some models, I was on the verge of buying a nearly new 530i Msport for £29k, there a couple of 2018 68 plates but with delivery mileage so brand new really.

Wasn’t looking at 540’s but 2017 SE are for sale at £24k, or M Sports about £30k, it’s between these two as I only do about 10k a year.

I’ve discounted the 530d even though some really good 530d SE around (£21k). I started looking at 530e’s but the electric range is just not enough, about 20 miles according to a dealer.

I’m in no rush to buy and if I’m honest it’s an impulse buy, the the G30 already seems to have dropped quite a lot in value, is it worth holding out a bit longer or not much further for them to drop as they seem close to 3 series prices.

How do current owners find the size of the thing, seems a big car?

I had an F10 which I changed for an XF, after testing the G30, which I found a bit uninspiring. They’re all much the same size and you soon get used to that.

On the road they all handle pretty well, the XF in particular not feeling it’s size at all. You just need to take a little extra care when parking but I’ve never found it an issue.

I doubt the used prices of this type of car will be firming up any time soon.

Thanks for the reply, I’m not finding anything else that I like at the moment, the current coup e class is quite nice but mainly just diesels available.

I think I’ll just wait, although the delivery mileage 530i seems a good deal at £29k, it’s still a 2018 car on. 68 reg, I’d assume it still will drop in value. As I’m not overly feeling the love for a G30 and concerned about the size I’ll probably wait and find one that won’t depreciate as much so I can off load it should I not get on with it. Even though loads of G30’s around no real discounts for cash buyers.

In terms of size, when I test drove one once I found it easier to place on the road than my E39.
