Apple CarPlay To Be A Subscription

It looks like CarPlay is to become chargeable in the USA.

Been like that here for a while now.

When I first got my car last year it was one price, £240 to have Carplay unlocked...for 3 years.

Earlier this year they gave you 1 year, 2 year or 3 year options for it.

Unless you’re hooked on Waze I think it’s a complete waste of money.

It offers nothing more than the iDrive does and simply extracts money from your wallet.

This. The only thing it has that is useful is being to dictate a reply to a text.

I find it far easier to navigate to the music on my phone using iDrive than CarPlay.

I play podcasts through my iPhone/Bluetooth through the iDrive

As I said, Waze is the one item it’s good for

I used to do likewise but it went wrong when Apple did a software update and it took a while for BMW to catch up.
