I’m looking at purchasing a g30 5 series, 530i or 530d, seen two which have delivery only mileage, new list price of £51k, discounted to £31k, a substantial £20k discount.

The salesman is doing his job, gently applying pressure saying that the discounts won’t be around for long as support from bmw ending and they are selling unis at that price, however the ones I’ve seen have been around for a few weeks, I’m assuming it’s just BS and more of a buyers market right now. He did mention that with the fall of the pound, cost could be increasing, but I’m assuming that would balanced with consumer confidence slipping, not many buyers for £30k used cars with expensive finance packages. I’d look to take the pcp for the incentives and pay back within 14 days.

We’re less than £1k away from doing a deal, should I hold out or bite the bullet now? Ive not followed bmw pricing for long, but know that new discounts are quite large hence the big pre reg drops.

BMW UK/GB do often push specific deals and offers for certain cars (especially ones with lots of stock or where an LCI/facelift is due) and this could be the case with the 5er. New bold (ugly?) grille coming and virtual instrument cluster so your dealer may be being honest.

Yep LCI not far away, the pre regs will be allocated cars they've had to take off BMW and then written down with support to clear.

Yes, the bmw website does have the new instrument cluster and a few other changes for the 5, I know the new discounts have been big, it’s just a matter of should I wait for the new reg. I’ve got two that interest me, one with 4K miles but better options, the other has 100 miles and new car smell but only £750 difference in list price.

Is demand or sub 1 year old stock good, reading that new sales cars are suffering.
