Cheers Smuler...,,,just realised this will not be so cheap will it ,the part will need to be painted never thought that through. It kept loosening and I kept banging it in with my hand, should have put it in the car till service time ,,buggerDon't be afraid of trying spraying it yourself - I sprayed a headlight washer jet cover on my E46, and the result was fine. Spraypainting well is hard, but doing a sort of OK job on a small area is a lot easier, and when that small area is going to get grimed up and covered in flies anyway, a sort of OK job is all you need.
Provided you get the lacquer coats fairly smooth it won't catch the light in a distracting way when it's clean, and the gaps help mask any minor discrepancy.
I bought paint and lacquer sprays from Halfords. Colour match was good.

It’s a ‘recovery eye’ - NOT a ‘towing eye’.
The eye is in your tool kit. Another of those things where people do not read their handbook, nor go over their cars. Recovery eyes were largely welded in before and slightly protruding, or at least visible, reducing pedestrian impact injuries is the reason for the separate screw-in eye; pedestrian injuries can be quite expensive in terms of NHS/Social Care costs.miniman..quality.There is always one on ph and today its you Pica Pica......Like a good boy before I posted I got the manual out I looked at a big diagram of the front of the car.It was numbered and named all over apart from that of which I asked. So I thought I would ask on here and got good advice

It is for recovering the vehicle, i.e. from a ditch. Towing is another matter. That is not pedantic, especially as autos should never be towed, they should be recovered on a flat-bed truck.Edited by smashy on Friday 6th September 16:12
Never mind, ignore me, and just tow it - using your so-called ‘towing’ eye.

It's beyond pedantic and very confused, but you keep digging....Never mind, ignore me, and just tow it - using your so-called ‘towing’ eye.
