I have driven the car today and no warning lights have come on, and no restricted performance. I went through the menu and into faults and it stated no faults.

I don’t want to book it in to the dealership so they can plug it in to the computer and find no faults then charge me £170.

Anyone local to Staffordshire or West Mids got a fault code reader and would see if it’s clear, there would be a drink in it

I've had that a few times on my 335i. Doesn't log a hard fault and it's never led to anything serious.

You are probably right as I have no symptoms that anything is wrong

There are 2 fault memories on modern BMW's, the error memory and an information memory. Using BMW compatible diagnostic tools you can access either. The iDrive error memory only gives you current active faults, not inactive ones.

I had that a couple of times, it was due to EGR not fully opening or closing as expected.

I replaced my EGR last week as I was also getting a slight delay when accelerating after sitting at a constant revs for any length of time, so could tell the EGR was not working properly.

My car is at 87k now though, again a 2014 B47, but have to say the EGR was really clean, no really build up, so presumed it was failing electronically.

If you have warranty take it in to them maybe?

Or even better if you're going to keep it, get a scanner, nice to know what is happening. I reckon half the time you take it in under warranty they reset the codes and say "Nothing logged Sir."
Far better to take it in and you say "I have had a few issues, so scanned it and EGR is showing faulty. I have reset it numerous times and keeps coming back."
Far harder to fib you off then.

Thanks for that, I will carry on using it and if it shows up again I will take it to the dealership who’s carried out the EGR works.
