Service cost, no all inclusive service available !
Discussion
Just went to dealer to buy all inclusive service for 320d x drive estate apprentently they don’t sell all inclusive service any more. But would sell me a service payment plan £300 deposit and £25 a month over 24 months. So £900 for 2 services and a free MOT instead of £399 for 2 services , a 125% increase?
First service due really want to keep bmw service history but really. Can’t find individual prices for services online any ideas how much the next 2 services will cost from BMW. Dealer said about £290 for first service!

In 2008 I bought a 5 year/60K Service Plan for my 123d for £660 - seemed like a bargain as I got 3 services out of it. Mind you Mrs Tidy got the same for her R56 Mini Cooper for £100 in 2006! And they even let her extend it for another 3 years for sensible money.
Anyway OP, how long does that plan cover?
I mean, if it's only 3 years it wouldn't be worth paying more for the Inclusive plan anyway - IIRC the only extras were brakes and wiper blades, and hopefully you'd be unlikely to need those in that time-scale as there is doubtless a mileage limit too!

The important question is how many services will it likely need in 2y
My 2016 3 series was new and didnt need an oil change till just under 2y
At 3y - bit rusty here - I think it needed fluids but not the next major service till it said so at approx 4y from new
As said earlier, the service pack used to be a great deal. It isnt any more
But do your own research
You should be able to find it here...
https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/owners/service-wor...
‘Book a service’
Pick a dealership
Enter registration and mileage
And it should show you the pricing menu.

I am beginning to think service plans are a bit of a con
We have one on our Tiguan , which on the face of it seemed good value , but it consists of an engine oil change , kicking the tyres , filling a tick sheet and a video walk round of the car on the 4 post
Brake fluid change ? not included sir
DSG oil change ? not included sir
Haldex oil change ? not included sir .
A/C check over ? not included sir .
These are all items listed as requiring to be done at specific intervals

I think it was end of July when the old service pack was phased out for the monthly one.
I managed to get it just in time for my car. I tried to buy it through my local dealer a few days before the change over but they refused to sell it to me despite it still being on the BMW website etc.
£300 for three years / 36k of servicing seems ok to because I should just about squeeze the second service in. Many bought the pack but never got the second service. Although when I checked the first service was the same price as the pack.
The old five year one was the best one.
The monthly payment one doesn’t appear to be great value to me.

Thanks . Oil change £210 oil change and micro filter £270 which I presume I need. Next service £460 https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/owners/service-wor...

If it was over 4 years old a value service with micro filter £179 so because I’ve got a new car they think it’s fine to charge me a extra £90 for the same service

The mileage is actually now accepted up to 38000 on these packs so there is a better chance of getting the 2nd major service in. The trick is to get in for your 1st service as early as possible (can be done 1000 miles before due). Just be aware that Vehicle Check is not covered at 2nd service and Brake Fluid change is not covered at 3 years.I managed to get it just in time for my car. My Feb14 530 was £425 for 5years/60k. Current December 2017 XF, £650 for 5 years/60k. The Jag will get 5 services for that, though; the BMW had 2.

Wow....in 2011, when I bought my 135i, the 5 year/60k Service Plan was £300.In 2008 I bought a 5 year/60K Service Plan for my 123d for £660 - seemed like a bargain as I got 3 services out of it.
Got 2 x services plus a brake fluid change out of that. Was just short of being able to get the 3rd service in

Didn't buy the reduced to 3 year/36k Service Plan for £750 when I bought the X5 in 2017, but wish I had, as the first service was almost that, and the 2nd service I've just had even more!
I suspect they've done the sums, and the service packs have cost them a fortune over the past decade or more, so they have knocked it on the head.
Dont forget the dealers are making money by massively oveecharging for consumables.
Ive just had a quote for the wifes X1 first service...
5.25 lites of oil...£127 !!! Dealer refused to budge on price so Im providing my own LL04 spec oil for almost a third of that price
Screen wash...£4.35. Erm no thanks i check it every week and have 5litre bottles of BMW screenwash in the garage already

The service intervals are around 24 mths or 20k miles these days, people are whinging over the smallest cost in car ownership....
Far too long, well, if you want to keep it long term anyway. I swap my oil every 8k miles, so every 5 months or so.
I buy all the parts from BMW and keep invoices, and then have the service receipts as well.
I do service at BMW, but only till 3 years old. Depends on the value of the car really.
The problem is what BMW are now charging. They have spread the servicing out to 2 years and 20k miles, but now charging twice as much.
I pay £45 for 20 litre barrel of LL04 low ash oil, the same they use in the dealers, and £11 for a filter from parts.
Oil change takes around 15 minutes start to finish.
Not sure why that is £259?
Oil service with air filter (£27) and Fuel Filter (£38) is £427.
I would rather just buy the parts and do it 3 times in 20,000 miles.

I see that BMW will now do that service for me at £129. I pay £45 for 20 litre barrel of LL04 low ash oil, the same they use in the dealers, and £11 for a filter from parts.

Not sure if it is because my car has hit the age where they offer reduced prices or just a current offer?
However, if they can do it for £129, it sort of shows that the £259 price for cars under 3 years old is because they know they can, nothing more.
