M performance power kit

Hi all - apologies if covered before but have Googled and can’t find a specific answer..... just bought a 2014 530d...... first time looking under the bonnet tonight and noticed a ‘m performance power kit’ badge on the engine cover....

What is this..... is the car packing extra bhp to a standard car?


Was going to get the car remapped but might not need lol

It sounds so ... BMW may be able to check on their database as I guess these kits are recorded somewhere.

Should add a wedge to the power - maybe 280/90 as opposed to 250bhp ?

Yep, dealer fit, so will be recorded on BMW database.

I've got that on my F31 330d, potentially the same thing. The full kit has extra BHP via a special air cooler and remap. Plus mine had extra large brakes, with red calipers (that no other 3 series apparently have...)

I was told when I bought my car from a BMW specialist all of this would have been about £4K (inc fitting) to add to the car new.

Can't really compare the car's performance to an ordinary 30d, but can say mine's got plenty of shove!
