Service Requirements
Discussion
Hello gents,
Got myself a lease BMW 3 series 320i from 2017. Now I know that I have to do all the required services on the car as stated in my lease contract. What I am unsure of is if I only have to do what the car asks for ( at the moments it wants a break fluid change for 11/19 service ) or do I have to do a general service with that as well meaning oil change and filters and all ( keep in mind I've done the last one last year in november because the car asked for it ).
Also do I get away with using a garage like them https://davidpaulofwarrington.co.uk/ who advertise that they can get services done and update my computer with said information or will that nul my leasing contract as its not a BMW approved garage? ( Not sure if they are after the computer being updated to be in terms or if they want only BMW approved garages doing it )
Would they even be able to check/know if its a BMW approved garage as long as the computer si up to date on the service side of things?
Thanks in advance

The next service will be brake fluid, but no oil service. Then you will alternate between basically oil/brake fluid at subsequent services, with some other extras as well. Oil change is by mileage/driving condition, brake fluid is normally time-based, with the first being 3 years, then subsequently every 2 years.
Your service history will show in iDrive. (Vehicle, vehicle status, then service history. It will show your previous services plus a code. I assume that is the servicer, at least it would be traceable.
Mine is outright purchase, so I am not sure what restrictions are placed on your lease.

I was asking about the oil change as they recommend you do it every 12 months. I only put around 7000 miles on the clock within the last 12 months since the oil change and filters were done so its not a lot to be honest as I didn't have that much traveling required ( changed work place, when I got the car I Was doing a lot more miles )

..and I replied about the oil service, re-read! Go by what the information on the dash tells you. It will be an oil change every other service, AFAIK. Question, who are ‘they’ that recommend you change it every 12 months? (Apart from some individuals here). BMW don’t AFAIK.

Yep - oil change every 2 years or earlier if lots of miles. As you say, the OBC is the one to listen to.Question, who are ‘they’ that recommend you change it every 12 months? (Apart from some individuals here). BMW don’t AFAIK.
