I'm looking at a second E65/E66 to join my 740i. I've got two in mind, going to view them later.

Are they worth a premium come sale time? One is a 730d which is 3750 on a 2006, the other is a 745i which is 3000 on a 2003. I don't mind facelift vs prefacelift, and would convert the 745i to LPG.

I know the non-individual ones which are a bit leggy are in real bangernomics territory now (730d 2-3k and 745i 1500-2500), are the ones I'm considering a bit mad?

If full individual Composition 1 then yes but it is a niche car.

They both are. What kind of premium would you expect? It's the niche factor that makes me wonder if it's worth anything more than a standard one.

Full spec Individuals feel special compared to (low) standard base spec cars. 20 inch staggered rare individual wheels, (even rarer) steering wheel with wooden intarsia (face-lift only) , full merimo leather, also lower and upper dash, centre console, alcantara roof liner etc... The older they get the more they will stand out from the crowd. But as always its the condition and the mileage that is the deciding factor price-wise. Personally I would not touch a Euro 4 diesel. Admittedly a face-lift individual interior is more special than preface-lift, especially the steering wheel. With the prices you quoted they are already at bargain basement price if in good condition so you can't really loose much and sitting in an individual vs the base is like sitting in a different car altogether. These cars are not really the best choice if you're after an investment though - you need something smaller and with two doors less. If you spend your time on a motorway there is no other car which feels as special for such little money.

I have just had mine lpg-ed and can't wait to collect it from the garage; have two more individuals... An E38 and an E64...bitten by the individual bug it seems.:-)

The 06 730D Sport I had was an individual in Le Mans blue. Good spec too

Great car, but an electrical gremlin ballache, never again unfortunately.

If I go for another 7 it’ll be an F01

I used to have a Late model individual E65 760i, it had vented merino leather, fine wood trim and most options available. It was an awesome car but I just felt a little young for such a grown up proper car. They are worth the premium if the extras are what you want. I used to cal it my flying sofa as it was the quickest comfiest car I ever had. Was faultless bar a rear passenger window motor which I replaced myself in 30 mins.

By a full individual interior I mean this:

The above is a maritime edition. Centre console, lower and upper dash are leather, steering wheel with wood intarsia. Roof liner in thick alcantara. Seats are fully adjustable contour seats.

It all depends on the colour scheme and condition once these cars get old then condition is everything and a mint green individual interior against some dismissal shade of doom blue won't be a selling point to all but the colour blind.

I wouldn't pay a premium unless it's one of the more popular individual schemes ruby black over champagne full leather as an example but again means nothing if the car is shagged.

The more individual the scheme the more it cost but often the more niche it becomes, in short I wouldn't be over paying.
