First foray into the BMW dealer yesterday to start the process of changing my 15 reg 320D Touring in the Spring for the new 3 Series Touring. After 13 years of 320D's now thinking of a petrol X Drive Touring only to find that you can't get a 320i XDrive or even non XDrive and you can only get a 330i non X Drive. Why is this and is it likely to change by the Spring?

You can get the 320i Touring RWD.

I have been considering one, they can be mapped really well.

Bimmercode3 lets you take them to 260hp with their software all using your phone for $595.

My issue is, the discounts on the M340i are so much better that buy the time you get the spec nearly as good as the M340i it is the same money, and the M340i will have far, far, far better residuals.
That will still be a £15k car after 5 years, where as the 320i will probably be £8k.

So no real point in the 320i.

BMW tend to drip feed new models to the market over about an 18 month period

It may be that the X drive variant is a few months down the line yet

Oh dear how awful that it is only a 2 litre, what will neighbours & (so called) friends say? Might as well commit suicide, but there is a lifesaver for it has a 330i badge.

I drove a 430i M Sport 1200 miles from Vegas to LA, back to Vegas then on to the Grand Canyon and back. I thought it was a great engine.
