F31 330D 62 plate - what to look out for?
Discussion
I recently sold my 62 plate 330d M Sport touring, it was an excellent car, so good choice!
Only thing I really had an issue with was the rear door window seals, which had shrunk and misshapen. These were replaced by BMW for free well outside the warranty period (its recognised as a common fault), so check this has been done.
Check the inside edge of the tyres, as these can wear unevenly if the tracking is out. I would also check that gear changes are nice and smooth from cold, mine had started to get a bit lumpy at 102,000 miles and some recommend a gearbox oil change to sort this (even though its supposed to be sealed for life).

I have a 2014 F31 330d. Got it on 30k, now on 46k. No issues to speak of really, although it did have the leaky EGR replaced under recall early this year, make sure it has had that done, it can be catastrophic.
The usual BMW things apply if you want longevity and a good drive - regular servicing (oil every 10k for me), good tyres & tracking are key.
Gearbox should be fine, but ZF very much do recommend changing the oil at 70k. Should be around £400 at a specialist and will do no harm at all.

Thanks for the advice, it felt lovely to drive apart from the ride - just felt a bit too wallowy and easy to upset, although it smoothed out the roads lovely. It has the leather seats which I found comfy, and it's only done around 45K so was in good nick. Want to compare to an M Sport with sport suspension, although I haven't found any 330D M Sports in my budget, so now looking at 320Ds ...
I'm sure it would be fine for 90% of driving, but when there's a nice b road to play on, I don't want to be leaning into next week.
