Is the later model n62tu in the X5 50i reliable enough to be worth considering as a viable purchase? Mileage is circa 6k per annum and I'd take out a BMW extended warranty.

Any owners care to comment on general running costs/mpg? I'm expecting 25mpg ish at 70-80mph, mid teens for town work.
Are they cheaper to service than the 40d as a comparison?

Thanks

I presume you actually mean N63tu. Same question I asked a while ago to little response as I'm considering a 650i GC.

I've decided it's not going to put me off laugh I will warranty though if I get one.

That's the one, excuse the typo.

Did you get any info from anywhere else? Seems like a mixed bag from all the US forums; some valve stem issues (maybe) but not overheating like the previous version. I think it needs a warranty but if it's big issues then I'd rather avoid...

Never found much, no. General advice largely seems to be avoid the pre-TU ones. I'm always wary of paying too much heed to what happens in the US as they always seem to be a bit over-reactive.

It'll be fine, I'm sure smile
