Yesterday when trying to buy a few minor bits and pieces for the old E46 I found this on the BMW official website:

https://shop.bmw.co.uk/bmw-uk-responsive/en_GB/gen...

You're able to search for your car via VIN and then order the parts and they get sent direct. It looks like the parts come from the same place (Park Lane) as when you buy OEM BMW parts from the official BMW eBay shop, and free 'express' delivery.

MUCH cheaper than a lot of aftermarket places on eBay (for washers, clips, random rubber bits etc).

Will be using this a lot in the future.

Hope it helps fellow bodgers DIYers smile

For comparison, I recently bought front discs, pads, sensor and disc bolts for my 535d, on that website delivered from park lane it comes to £555. From cotswold bmw via the 5 series forum it came to £448 delivered. I don't even bother asking my local dealer for parts prices anymore, cotswolds make it so easy.

Thanks for the link, that's a very cool site - it's like realoem except you get actual prices. Ok it might not be the cheapest (I get my parts from Harry Fairbairn up north who give nice discounts) but I can see this website being very useful in getting ballpark parts prices without having to call anyone.

It even gives me a nice picture of my car in the correct colour when I type in the VIN! smile

Yes, I think it's really helpful for the small things like BMW specific bolts, clips, shim etc and you can't be bothered to go to the dealer to order and collect. As mentioned, I found some of the bits on eBay (aftermarket) but they were 3-4 times a price of the actual BMW RRP!

I've actually found BMW prices v decent for some things but crazy for others. I suppose it depends what it is.

I found the cheapest way to get BMW genuine parts is by using this dealer in Germany: https://www.leebmann24.de/customer/account/login/

After you create an account, you email them and ask for a owners club discount which they then apply to your account.

The website is real easy to use after Chrome translates it from German, you can get ALL parts unlike the UK site and with a decent discount too.

The only downside is £15.99 postage and waiting around a week for delivery but if you are ordering many parts its worth it.
