I need to get a nee set of tyres for my G11 740d x drive......

My last BMWs have always had PS4S Michelins on which were very good indeed

I can get a set of Vred Ultra Vortis for a shade over £500 whereas the same size PS4s are comig in at 900....

Will I regret the vreds?......the 740 gets driven quite spiritedly for a big car hut obviously doesnt exactly get thrown about lol

Any experiences of vreds ?

I’m a huge fan of the Ultrac Vorti’s tyres. Had PS4s also and would take the Vreds over them any day.

Found the PS4s got loud and hard once the first few mm wore off, never experience that with the Vreds at all. Had them in 18” and 19” flavours and will be going for them again on my next 18” alloys.

Camskill and Tyreleader generally have the best prices for them too FYI

Got Vortis on the Cayenne, they are awesome, fantastic in the wet as well. NOt sure they'll be great in the winter, I swap to Dunlop winters. The Vortis have three deep groves, but very few tread cuts across the tyres.

I’ve tried a Vreidesteins on my E46. They worked well but wore rapidly. Back on Goodyear Eagle F1s now.

Seen a few folk say that; never had poor wear rates at all TBH, but then again, I don't do big miles at all.

The F1s are great tyres too, as are Uniroyal RainSport's, but a bit soft in the sidewall, which is great for overall comfort, but not when you're pushing it into bends etc

Surprised the Cayenne has done around 17K on the 4. At the last check they were around 4.8-5mm & were 8mm new. And this is a 4 x 4 that is reckoned to be very hard on tyres.

Thanks for the replies so far....

Vreds seem to get a good write up...
