I am looking for a daily runner and rather fancy a 330D (cannot find a 335D) in the M57 variety.
But this is not a euro 6 engined car and will be exposed to the soon to be imposed restricions of the ULEZ. Which, to be frank, I do not know for sure where the area starts and ends (North circ meeting the A10 near Edmonton?)

Any thought on this?

ULEZ if it happens will be inside the N Circular and S Circular....personally anyone buying a non Euro 6 Derv has to be crazy sadly. I have a euro 5 330d and it has been fantastic I do not want to sell it but come oct 21 as soon as I wake up that car will be costing me £12.50. Every day....Mind you that sort of thinking makes my car sort of worthless.....

Fairly clear question: Is it worth buying an M57 330D when the OP may be faced with an ULEZ zone in the near future. The answer is: no

I've been buying Euro 6 engines only for the last two years now as I live within 100m of the congestion / ULEZ zone. And when the congestion timings end, I regularly travel through it.

£12.50 a day would cost a fortune very quickly.

I dread to think whats going to happen to Euro 5 diesel car prices in and around London as Oct 2021 approaches.

According to the ULEZ checker my 2002 330d is exempt:

I think the personalised No plate confuses the system.

I don’t drive to London anyway.

I think diesel will be pretty much finished in the UK come April this year anyway because of all the changes for company car drivers and BIK charges going forward.

A 320d will now cost a company car driver £14000 over 3 years compared with £48000 over the same period for a 330e.

An A6 2 litre auto avant will now cost them £18000 over 3 years in BIK tax alone.

You can rent the car for less than the BIK tax.

That will kill off diesel far quicker than any low emission charges imho.

Methinks £4800.00 hehe

Cue 330e drivers spitting coffee out.
