Hi, not having much luck with this car, I've had some bangers over the years and never missed a beat, but it seems with my relatively low mileage e92 335i, it seems what can go wrong has... so after checking the blower fuse was ok, I can only assume its the motor? any one had these issues before? Never in all my life and hundred of cars have I ever had a blower fan motor issue and people say modern cars are more reliable? mmmmmm

What’s it doing firstly? Is it not blowing air at all or is it just blowing slowly? If it’s the former it could be the the fan or the resistor- both ten minutes jobs, if it’s just blowing slowly regardless of setting then it’s probably trying to protect a low battery.

Final stage resistor; AKA FSU or hedgehog.

Common issue and an easy How To here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqRhj4KWuu8

Thanks for the clip. the one I found the chap was changing the whole unit as the fan its self was stiff hence that's probably what caused the resistor to blow. For the sake of 10 quid off ebay I got the whole thing so may as well change it I suppose. thank you very much for your tips gents
