Hello,

When I was on a European road trip, the warning sign came up to replace front pads. And we were going through some fun roads and had about 500 miles to go, so to be on safe side, I got some pads put on in Germany. I could not find a BMW garage, so had to go with a specialist.

Pads are fine, but I still have the error messages popping up all the time saying I need to get the pads changed.

I'm considering selling it at the moment, if I give back to BMW no problem, but if sell privately, BMW are basically saying they would only remove the warnings if I get them to replace the pads again. So another set of pads and labour and there is nothing wrong with the ones currently on the car.

Any back street / Independents who can clear?

Thanks,

Nick

What car?

They can all be reset from the cluster.

Search your model on google for "BMW xxx service reset"

If the pad warning light has come on then the wear sensor has already been triggered and you can’t reset the light without fitting a new pad wear sensor - I presume you didn’t do this when you fitted new pads? Alternatively snip the wires to the old sensor and join them together....

Two warnings on these, amber warning and then red.

If you got the red warning, as said, pad sensor went through, did you replace the sensor?

You need to fit a new one, only takes a couple of minutes, or you could cut the wires as said above and twist them together.
