Changing the fleet just taken delivery of a new X2 2.0i auto. My last petrol new car was a Rover 213! This supplements our new E Golf used for commuting and local runs. The BMW is an excellent car, smooth, quiet and surprisingly economical (40+ mpg). It's fast enough and very practical and on 19" wheels looks very smart. One thing I can't get my head around is the folding mirrors. On my last car (VW) the mirrors automatically folded when you locked up - not so with the X2 - you have to do it manually. I have searched through settings and you cannot set it up to automatically fold. Go figure!

You probably did the same thing I did which is to assume that they fold! It's an option unfortunately, check the options list on your car when you ordered it.

If you're fortunate enough to have them, then this shows you how to set it:-

Yes it's got lots of option packs one of which enables me to fold the mirrors from a single button but the option to fold when locked is NOT in the settings options! t's no big deal really but in a tight space was a good way of protecting the mirrors automatically - now I have to remember to press the button on the door.

You could always see if there's anyone local to you with Carly for BMW or INSTA (I think) (bimmercode/NCS are others) software and see if they can code it for you to do this

You can code that using Bimmercode and an obd adapter, I did that on my F30.

Press and hold the lock button on the fob and they will fold.

Absolutely this, my 2017 X1 did it and so does my 2017 340i

My X1 wasn't coded and I'm sure my 340i wasn't either, although it is a coding option and I believe it had to be coded on the previous E generation.
