Schnitzer launches 7-Series kit

BMW tuner specialist AC Schnitzer has announced upgrades for the new 7-Series. It has developed an aerodynamically optimised body kit for the new facelift variant of the E65 / E66, and new suspension for use with Schnitzer's monster 22-inch wheels.

Body and interior

Inside, you can add aluminium trim, along with a four-spoke sports airbag steering wheels and velour foot mats, plus AC Schnitzer aluminium pedals and foot rests. There's also a new design of an aluminium cover for the controller of the BMW "i-Drive system" in the style of the Type IV wheel.

Externally, a new, high performance exhaust system gives improved gas flow. The front of the car gets a new skirt with grille for improved front-end downforce while a Chromeline Set for fitting around the radiator grille is an optional extra.

At the rear, a new skirt is available in two designs. In the first, the exhaust is invisible as per the standard vehicle. In the second, a cut-out chromed tailpipe trim peeps out. A rear roof spoiler, a one-piece rear spoiler and mirror covers complete the rear end mods. Both side and rear skirts can be chrome trimmed -- more optional extras.

Wheels and suspension

Schnitzer's alloys, available up to 22-inches, come in various designs and sizes including Type II and Type IV designs, and racing rims in Type II, III and IV. The maximum wheel and tyre combination is Type II in 10.5J x 22" with 265/30 R 22 tyres on the front and 295/25 R 22 on the rear. The standard tyres can still be fitted with size 19" wheels. New suspension kits with progressive springs lower the car by an inch.

The AC Schnitzer accessory range for the BMW 7-series facelift is expected to be available from autumn 2005, and the range for the non-facelift model is available now.

Ha! Thats what everybody said about the stock original 7-series.
YAY! No more ugly taxi pack bootlid for 7-series!!!
Now just to sort out the 6-series...
