I have bought the vehicle recently and realized there was an engine noise that was very noticeable.

It's a BMW 1 series N45 and I have tried to narrow down the possibilities.
I am not a professional so I would only be speculating.

Is it possible the vvt solonoids are faulty therefore explaining why nose did not stop after disconnecting?

The noise seems to be a top engine noise

Please help😂
Thank you

Stretched timing chain hitting inside of cam cover (probably).

Oh right I'll take a look at that.

Also I removed the vacuum pump hose and noticed the noise was not there any more.
Could it be a loose baffle on the intake manifold?
