Hi All,

Does anyone have any recommendations / suggestions for someone who could come out and recode a battery on an i3? The car is immobilised at the moment, just outside Oxford. Obviously in the current COVID climate, options are somewhat reduced!

Thanks in advance!

Do you have an OBD dongle? If so, you can do it yourself with Carly or Bimmerlink.

Edit: just noticed it's an i3, not sure if that has a different process for its 12v battery.

It's not my car, but from what I can see it's a bit more difficult for an i3. It's hard to tell upfront whether a particular system will do it.

No OBD dongle, but happy to purchase one or a dedicated hardware code reader fo rthe right price if we know it will do the job...

Get in touch with Mark Purcell. He's a bloody good independent and looked after my old man's E46 M3 and my Z4M before we moved in February. He should be able to hook you up with the right local business that can sort that out for you, he might even be able to do it. Remember garages are still open, so it might be possible to go over to his place and have them get it sorted out quickly.
