Hi i have a bmw 640d convertible 2012 model. I had a remap done just to clarify then few months down the line my car was parked and a bike rider fell off his bike and the bike hit my rear right passenger side. It was then repaired by the insurance. But then not long after i got a DRIVE-TRAIN fault and a warning of not being able to have full performance, but dosent put itself in limp mode as i can still drive to top speed but just take longer to accelerate thats all. I got it scanned today and all i got from the diagnostics is egr which i changed a few months ago. No turbo lags or leaks. 244C00 & 27B900 & 25CE00 were the fault codes. Can any one help or has experienced something like this before??? Many thanks

Had the drivetrain error message come up on mine. It was diagnosed as the pressure for the DPF was marginal. Had a full regen and its been fine.

I had a M4 which had a bird fly into the rear window and 5 miles later the drivetrain warning came on. It turned out to be a very temporary issue with the fuel pump cut-off. If you are rear-ended it cuts off fuel, so I think the switch partially tripped.

I took it in, they cleared the error - couldn't see anything and it never returned.

You sound to have a similar slight bang

Taking longer to accelerate would indicate the small turbo is not spooling. Which could be a vacuum leak.

Funnily enough this happened to me yesterday. I had driven for around 2.5 hours, parked up for 15 minutes or so and then when I went to drive off again, car went super limp and the drive train warning came on. I got ten metres up the road and it died completely. Could not restart as it sounded like there was no compression so had it get it towed...

Later today it flagged up a faul code referencing a possible VANOS issue.

Engine control 1 - VMU / Motronic MED 17 UDS213901 - Load cutout. Error Message : Function active.1F0515 - Valve lift control. Error Message : Open circuit.133011 - Variable valve lift voltage. Error Message : Voltage supply faulty.

Yet now it starts and runs fine? The car had been in storage for months and this was its first proper run out - timing of the issue makes it seem to me like a glitch! It certainly seems to a common problem with a multitude of causes!
