Hi everyone, I hope people here are staying safe and well? I was wondering whether anything can be done about BMW's heavy steering? I've noticed it in every BM I've owned, all 9 of them over the years, they seem to be more weighted than your average car, so I was wondering if anything can be done to make it lighter? My wife loves my car but hates driving it because the steering is much heavier than her Vauxhall. I see what she means as its something I've noticed over the years comparing it to other cars I've owned so I can only assume its something BMW do deliberately to maybe give it a solid quality feel? Cheers (before anyone says anything, tyres on the front are brand new, recent fluid change too)

Which car it is might help.

Define "heavy" I have never noticed them being particularly heavy.

2007 335i, its not heavy as such but a bit weightier than your average Vauxhall, ford, mazda in fact every other car that we have had in our household, all my BM's steering have all been a little weightier that's all so wondered if anything could be done as my missus is a wimp lol. She loves the car but does a lot of local driving and finds it a bit much to live with daily. There is nothing wrong or broken, I was just wondering if there was an uprated pump or something that could be fitted?

brand new tyres at correct pressure, but yes Rassi, maybe that might be an option if they ever open. I do get it though I been so used to driving her car lately as I've been home and when I do get in mine I do see it but I've been driving them for so long now I generally don't notice it really
