BMW i8 insurance

Hi all, anyone got a recommendation for a i8. Thanks in advance.

Insurance varies massively with EVs. When I asked Aviva to add the wife's i8 to our multi-car policy they wanted £1200. But as a standalone policy, they could do it for £480. Different product apparently even though both from Aviva. Originally BMW themselves were the cheapest but the insurance is voided if anything like wheels/tires are changed from the original spec. Upgraded wheels on the i8 are probably the most common mod! Wonder how many people are driving around uninsured.
